Pressfittings for fuel distribution plants
The Pressfitting System is an ideal choice for fuel distribution plants. This is thanks to its duration, speed in creating joints, and, last but not least, the fact that it does not use dangerous open flames, as in welded systems. Let's take a look at some of the winning features of Pressfittings that make it ideal even for this application.

The resistance and quality of pressfittings are also ideal features for fuel distribution and storage systems.

No open flames are used to install pressfittings, unlike welded systems. This is ideal when installing distribution plants for highly flammable fuels. This is true not only for brand new systems but also to expand already existing ones. There is no need to completely empty it of fuel.

Another very important advantage of pressfittings is their speed in creating joints. With hundreds, if not thousands, of fittings to be created, using the pressfitting method, which requires only a few seconds for each one, is an unrivalled advantage!
The pressfitting system for fuels
For most petroleum-based fuels, the choice that ensures the best system quality and longest life is definitely the AISI 316L stainless steel pressfitting system.
Carbon steel may be used in some cases, but its duration may be more compromised than stainless steel by environmental variables and the presence of air in the circuit.

The safety of the Eurotubi sleeve
Thanks to the safety of the sleeve, our coloured film that remains on the fitting if it was not pressed, any possible and dangerous fuel leaks resulting from unpressed fittings may be resolved quickly.

The most suitable O-ring
Since these applications require FPM O-rings, the EPDM trickle fittings cannot be used.
The gaskets that are most suited to the applications for fuel are the red ones in FPM / FKM. They are also ideal for industrial applications. Their mixture has elements that make it superior to others currently on the market.

The red FPM / FKM O-ring is more suitable for the distribution of lubricant oils.
As we saw, the AISI 316L stainless steel pressfitting is the ideal solution for fuel distribution systems. it is quick to install and offers increased resistance to extreme environments, as in this installation: fuel storage for an enormous gold mine in the Australian desert.
